Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study and treatment of hormones. Hormones are chemicals our body produces to regulate everything from sleep to hunger, and temperature to mood. Many people suffer from issues where too much or too little hormones are produced, leading to a wide array of diseases.
Most endocrinological problems can be resolved through medication, but in some situations surgery may be required. Mediglobe's global partner also includes some of the world’s best endocrinologists, to ensure that all your issues will be addressed, no matter how small they may seem.

Adrenalectomy

An adrenalectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the adrenal gland, located on top of the kidney. This gland regulates metabolism, the immune system, blood pressure, and response to stress, amongst other essential functions.

Parathyroidectomy

This surgery is done to remove the parathyroid glands in the neck, behind the thyroid gland. These glands help regulate the calcium, phosphorus and magnesium in the bones and blood.

Thyroidectomy

Thyroidectomy

The thyroid gland in the neck plays a vital role in metabolism, growth and development. Thyroid issues are amongst the most common endocrine disorders, usually addressed by medication but in some cases may require surgical removal of the thyroid.

Thyroid Lobectomy

As the thyroid is made up of two lobes, in some cases doctors may recommend removing just one lobe. This process is known as thyroid lobectomy, and can successfully help regulate overproduction of thyroid hormones.

Lymphadenectomy

Lymphadenectomy

Lymph nodes are responsible for filtering substances from the body’s tissue and fighting infections. In case of lymph cancer, doctors may recommend removing one or several nodes. The nodes are located in the arms, legs, and the groin.
